Plants & Trees
Home-grown in our own nurseries, raised within the walled garden itself. From seasonal bedding and climbing plants to shrubs, perennials and trees — our staff are here to help.
Explore Plants & TreesFrom home-grown plants and homemade food to community spaces, charity gardens and dog-friendly days out, there's more waiting for you inside Heaton Park Garden Centre than you might expect.
Built in the late 18th century to supply fruit and vegetables for the Heaton Hall estate, these walls were engineered to create something remarkable — a sheltered microclimate in the heart of Greater Manchester. Those same walls still stand.
For over 25 years our team has cultivated the grounds within them. Today, in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society, we are developing this walled garden into a lasting community space — for wellbeing, connection and belonging — proudly aligned with Manchester City Council's Parks Strategy 2017–2027.
“Gardens are vital spaces that support wellbeing — offering peace, joy and connection to everyone who steps inside.”— Royal Horticultural Society
