The Place to Potter
The Place To Potter is a cosy log cabin nestled within the grounds of Heaton Park Garden Centre offering a variety of crafts from pot painting, teddy bear building and slime making workshops.
We offer a wide range of birthday parties to suit all interests and preferences. As well as this, we have built quite a reputation for hosting themed and seasonal workshops in the school holidays as well as toddler sessions which are held weekly during term time.
During school term time you are fine to just drop in.
At weekends and during the school holidays we recommend contacting us via email or Facebook to reserve a table.
Pottery Painting
We have a wide range of ceramics to suit every age and budget. Our pots start at £5 and go up to £40 depending on size and detail. Our most popular children’s pots such as coin banks average at £7.
We always encourage adults to get stuck in too! For bigger pots, why not extend your visit over three trips so you can ensure you can take the best care possible.
Our stock changes regularly to ensure we are bringing in new and exciting ceramics to our customers. However we have coin banks, animals, flowerpots and lots of seasonal pots to choose from!
Slime Making
Slime making is available some weekends depending on whether we have birthday parties running or not. We also host regular slime workshops during school holidays – often themed. If interested in slime making, give us a ring or an email to see if it will be available!
Birthday Parties at The Place to Potter
Here at The Place To Potter, we want to take the stress out of your day and ensure your child has a birthday party to remember! We offer paint a pot parties, slime parties, paint and slime together, bear building parties and more recently we have launched our special Harry Potter or Unicorn parties!
Teddy bear building
If ceramics or slime making isn’t for you or your little ones, perhaps bear building might suit. We have traditional bears, unicorn and animals such as monkeys, elephants, hippos and dogs! Hand stuff your chosen bear, give your bear its very own heart and design a T-shirt before signing an official adoption certificate!
Our bears cost £15 (or £16 if you want to design a T shirt for your new friend)
Birthday Packages
Our party room holds between 10 to 15 children. Anymore children than this and we would have to hold the party in our main studio.
We require a £50 deposit to secure the booking and the rest is payable on the day.
Paint a Pot Party
A much loved package by our customers. All pots are taken home after the party as a memento of your childs special day.

WINTER WONDERLAND GROTTO
Come down and meet Crystal our snow queen as she welcomes you into our winter wonderland grotto! The kids will receive a video message from Santa Clause himself before receiving a special gift from Crystal and posting their own letters to Santa in our postbox to the North Pole!

Christmas Garden Workshop
Come and create your very own magical Christmas garden with us. First, paint your festive ceramic as well as a wooden door. Next choose a flower to plant up in your pot. Then, using all our crafty bits and pieces, watch your garden come to life!

Christmas Slime workshop
Slime with a twist! Learn how to make your very own slime before adding festive decorations such as colourful beads, festive confetti and glitter!

Christmas gift and wrapping session
Create something special for someone you love or even for yourself. Choose between making a bauble, painting and planting a flowerpot or even painting a tealight holder. Christmas snacks and treats also included!

Reindeer Extravaganza
Join us in Santa’s reindeer barn and meet Prancer and Dancer, our Shetland Pony’s dressed in festive wear! Listen to our Christmas story and then head into our studio for reindeer food making, reindeer pot painting and reindeer bag decorating!

Breakfast With The Elves.
The Place To Potter elves will entertain you with Christmas music, photo opportunities and more before showing you to your table for a truly festive breakfast. The little ones can then finish off with paper crafts and can write their very own letter to Santa which will be posted in our mailbox.
